I've been thinking lately about leaders. Ministries. Life, as a Christian.
Because of this, I've been looking at web-sites and blogs way more than I'm used to. When I look at these leaders blogs, I see how wide their scope is and how God has given them each unique territory to go into, and it makes me wonder more about what's mine? Where and with whom am I to go? I can't be Rob Bell. Donald Miller. John and Staci Eldredge. But I can be Susie. Most days I like being her, though there are days I want to trade in her life.
So, what's my platform? The thing I'd "tweet" about if I tweeted to get everyone to think more about?
I think some of it it would be about leaders and missionaries. They are often the forgotten ones. God gives them this unique platform and uses them in a myriad of ways, yet sometimes there is no where for them to wrestle, come undone, receive shepherding, and refreshment. I would like to provide environments for them to do just this. Whether it meant a team traveling out to them and their communities to be a listening ear, provide a retreat of sorts, or workshop that helps sustain them on their unique fronts. Or providing a place for them to come, a wide open space of beauty, nature, cozy nooks and crannies all designed with them in mind so they can be refreshed, sustained and have a place to tell the fullness of their stories. Leaders supporting other leaders.
I wonder how this would help the longevity and advancement of these ministries? I wonder if we'd hear less about moral failures and severed, divided teams? I don't know. But I want soul care for leaders to be a normalized part of what it means to be a 21st century Christian leader. For the soldiers who go out everyday and battle for Christ's kingdom, to know there are places and spaces to come back to for respite, rescue, and refuge, so they can head back out into their designated lands and conquer!
These are some of my dreams....Anyone wanna come with?
