Sacred Moment Monday

I think sometimes the sacred is happening and we are totally unaware of it's unfolding.

Humanness, fear, past hurts, real-time questions or concerns, all wrap their sticky little tentacles around our fragile hearts. This duplicitous deterrent that criss-crosses from place to place, slowly threatening to cover over the sacred in our lives.  Quickly taking the holy and diminishing it to nothingness. They cast doubt, fear, and shame (the usual suspects) over the unfolding grace in our lives.

But here's the thing...sometimes in spite of all this, in spite of the mirk and mire, the human and the holy, the love and the fear, the most sacred of all things is happening, truly, we are just too "in it" to see it.  Too close, too afraid, too _______ (fill-in-the-blank) to see the light shining in spite of these unholy disrupters.

And for this, my friends, hindsight is the great giver of Truth. I cling to this foreknowledge. The old adage "time will tell" has true merit.  For sometimes the most sacred happens in the unknown, the unfolding moment we are living.
